Job Role: We are seeking a Quality Assurance Test Developer to design and implement both manual and automated test routines for our embedded systems and IoT solutions.

This role involves working with automated testing frameworks to develop high quality testing processes for embedded devices, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems, and cloud-integrated solutions. The QA Test Developer will contribute to accelerating the software delivery speed, reducing rework due to software bugs, optimizing testing performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing: Develop routines for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, including the design, setup, and maintenance of HIL environments. Ensure these environments accurately simulate real-world hardware conditions, enabling thorough validation of embedded software.

• Agile Development Focused on Business Goals: Use agile methodologies to track the task progress always being aligned with project deliverables and meeting its deadlines.

• Maintenance and Evolution of test infrastructure: Keep test infrastructure performing optimally using data-driven methods and up-to-date testing technologies and best practices.

• Collaboration and Team Work: Work closely with the Software Engineers, Product Owners, other QAs and stakeholders to develop the test automation according to product requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  1. 3+ years’ experience in software testing
  2. 2+ years’ experience in test automation and frameworks
  • Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard test automation frameworks such as Cucumber (behave) and Robot Framework and tools such as Swagger, Postman and Cypress with a focus on creating reusable, scalable, and maintainable automation scripts for embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, with the ability to write test scripts, automate workflows, and develop custom tools for test automation. Knowledge of other scripting or programming language (e.g., JavaScript, C/C++) is a plus.
  • Practical experience with BDD using Gherkin and Behave to create and execute automated acceptance tests in collaboration with development teams.
  • Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bamboo, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. Skilled in automating build, test, and deployment processes to ensure fast and reliable delivery.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, like git, Bitbucket or GitHub.
  • Knowledge of various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, stress, security, integration, and system testing, with a focus on embedded devices and IoT systems including integration with cloud platforms communication with other devices.
  • Use in tools like Jira, preferably with the XRay plugin, Azure DevOps for managing and reporting testing activities.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Ability to interact and align with stakeholders and technical leaders across the company, ensuring effective communication and shared understanding of project goals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment, with a focus on delivering value and meeting requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Embedded devices testing on Linux operating system and raspberry pi environments.
  • Experience working in a global environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Background in digital transformation, connectivity solutions, or IoT in the industrial or building automation sector.
  • Experience using different communication protocols and interfaces, like HTTPS, SSH, Telnet, Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485 and CAN.
  • Expertise in mobile application testing for multiplatform frameworks, with hands-on experience using Appium.
